Jim Rieder
President
Jim is a 40 year veteran of the workers’ compensation industry in
Ohio, having held senior most positions in workers' comp. with
employers, with Third Party Administrators (TPAs), and notably, as
Deputy Administrator with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation
itself. Building on this depth of experience, Mr. Rieder has
unparalleled knowledge of the Ohio workers' comp. system, as well as
of the nuances and challenges of managing workers comp. exposures.
Jim has also frequently served as a Hearings Officer reviewing and
deciding claims.
Prior to joining Benefits 1 Group, a VoCare Services Affiliate
Company, Jim held senior positions in many of the largest Third
Party Administrators (TPA) in Ohio. He began his career with Gates,
McDonald & Company, as the Manager of Self-Insured Workers
Compensation group. He then joined the Ohio Bureau of Workers’
Compensation, mentioned above, as that agency’s Deputy Administrator
of Operations. He next moved to the Frank Gates Service Company,
where he held the position of Senior Vice President, Self-Insured
Workers’ Compensation and Group Health. His final position before
joining Benefits 1 Group was with Sheakley Uniservice, Inc, where he
held the position of General Manager Workers’ Compensation.
Jim is an “expert’s expert” in the workers’ compensation arena.
He has managed every aspect and understands the nuances and
flexibility of the system like few others. This experience makes Jim
one of Ohio’s experts of evaluating costs and options in managing
workers' comp. exposure.
