Big things continue to happen at Benefits 1 Group! With the addition of six new staff members Benefits 1 Group has added over 154 years of experience in the workers compensation and unemployment benefits disciplines. Below are a few details on each person's experience, as well as the business group they are associated with.
Benefits 1 Group is also pleased to announce the opening of our new Dublin, Ohio location as a result of our consistent and steady growth. This expansion will allow us to continue to meet the needs of our customers in Columbus and surrounding areas.
These continued improvements are largely due to our loyal customers and we thank you all very much for the opportunity to be of service.
Rates and Compliance Department
Kathy Kreiselman - Senior Underwriting Compliance Specialist
Kathy has 31 years of tax, rates and underwriting experience in Ohio workers' compensation. She has assisted multiple entities with reorganization, acquisitions, program analysis, self-insurance studies, and manual reclassifications. Kathy will assist clients with high level rating and financing options.
Claims Department
Dan Hinton - Claims Examiner
Dan began his career working as a legal assistant for a premier claimants' law firm in Columbus, Ohio. After six years of preparing and managing injured workers' cases, Dan became a claims examiner for one of the largest TPAs in Ohio. With over 11 years of experience, Dan excels in steering employers through the confusing Ohio system as a result of his unique understanding of both the employee and employer perspective.
Customer Service and Business Development
Sherm Caldwell - Vice President of Business Development
Sherm brings 31 years of industry experience to Benefits 1 Group including 4 years as a Corporate Risk Manager for a large multi-state manufacturer / distributor. Prior to joining Benefits 1 Group in December, 2009, Sherm served as Vice President, Client Service for a global business outsourcing/processing firm in the workers compensation TPA practice. He was responsible for a 7 member Account Executive team which managed a $17 million book of business.
Robert Staton - Account Executive
Bob has over 31 years of Ohio TPA experience, including claims management, rating, underwriting, and safety and has argued over 22,000 workers' compensation hearings. His experience also entails all monopolistic coverage, self insurance and alternative rating programs. Bob has previous experience with unemployment compensation, inclusive of hearings, claims management and program implementation.
David McKibben - Account Executive
David began his career in workers' compensation in 1985. He has held various positions with increasing levels of responsibility including Hearing Representative, Regional Sales Manager, Regional Manager and Account Executive. David has extensive experience in all aspects of workers' compensation at both the state funded and self insured levels.
Michael Brown - Account Executive
Mike has been in the Workers' Compensation and Risk Management business for over 30 years. In addition to experience as a claims examiner and hearing representative, Michael for over 20 years has proactively consulted with employers to develop and maintain best in class strategies, including evaluating the wide array of risk financing options available to employers.
